To Ebook or not to Ebook that is the question

Ebooks seem like a good idea. It helps students to display their knowledge and gives them a chance to show what they know. Knowing that they will be creating a book will excite students. In a way it could force them into learning about the subject in which they are writing.
For the teacher it could be equally just as exciting. It gives the teacher a chance to be creative. Ebooks let the teacher, and students, alike a chance to expand on what they know and show others as well. When using these Ebooks in the class, it could instill a sense of pride in each student. Being able to look up at the teacher and know "hey! i created that! i knew that!" It could also give confidence as well.
As i grew up i thought of authors as smart, brave intellectual people. To write a book was, is , something magical to me. I'm not the only one to believe that.. many people do. So to give kids an opportunity to create something like a book, is wonderful. It shows them that they are smart and able to do what any other author can.
I plan to use Ebooks in my classroom and involve my students as much as possible. I want each child to be able to look to them and learn in a more simple manner. This gives each child a chance to not only use them in my class but at home as well. They can download the material with their parents and learn in a quieter slower family environment if that is what they need.
Each child can teach their parents what they know based on the Ebook they helped create. If someone can teach something to another person then it is clear that they not only know what they are talking about..they understand it as well.
It is like Jon Smith mentioned on his website, http://www.redjumper.net/blog/2014/01/using-book-creator-support-autistic-students/, ebooks are contagious and make students who create them excited and globally known authors. He managed to excite a group of autistic students with no motivation in one meeting. Before that, when he first discovered ebooks (or Ibook) he had bettered the English skills of students who struggled with the subject for months. If that isn't a sign of an amazing resource then i don't know what would be.
